Hulwan Energy Recovery Methods Introduction Energy recovery is any approach or procedure for minimizing energy input to an overall system by exchanging energy between the overall system's subsystems. Energy can take any form in each subsystem, though most energy recovery systems exchange thermal energy, which can be sensible or latent. In some circumstances, energy recovery necessitates the use of an enabling technology, such as diurnal or seasonal thermal energy storage (STES, which allows heat or cold to be stored between seasons).
